This presentation will outline sport specific risk factors, lean vs. non lean sports and similarities between clients with anorexia nervosa and a well-trained athlete. Presenter will provide an understanding of specific questions to ask and assessment tools to assess clinical eating disorder behaviors in athletes. Individuals will learn signs and symptoms of unbalanced or unhealthy exercise in athletes and develop an understand of the roles of intervention and support.
Participants will be able to describe the role of the interdisciplinary team.
Participants will be able to describe how assessments for athletes differ from assessments for non-athletes.
Participants will be able to identify what qualifies as excessive exercise in an athlete.
