Join us in Portland for the NEDA Walk and stand together in the fight against eating disorders.
The NEDA Walk is part of a nationwide movement organized by the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support individuals and families impacted by eating disorders. This annual event brings together survivors, loved ones, clinicians, advocates, and community members who believe that recovery is possible and that no one should struggle alone.
On Saturday, October 5th, we will gather at the beautiful Eastern Promenade in Portland, Maine for a morning of connection, education, and hope. Registration and activities begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the Opening Ceremony at 9:30 AM. The walk itself is a powerful symbol of solidarity. Each step represents our commitment to raising awareness, supporting recovery, and advocating for accessible, compassionate care.
Eating disorders affect people of all ages, genders, body sizes, races, and backgrounds. They are serious mental health conditions with complex biological, psychological, and social components. Events like the NEDA Walk help amplify voices, share resources, and foster community support for prevention and treatment efforts.
Whether you walk in honor of someone you love, in celebration of your own recovery, or in support of broader change, your presence matters. Participants are encouraged to form teams, fundraise, and invite friends, family members, and colleagues to join.
This event is also an opportunity to connect with local organizations, treatment providers, and advocates working to improve eating disorder awareness and care throughout Maine and New England.
