Kathleen Hart PhD

Clinical psychologist specializing in behavioral treatment for eating and anxiety disorders.

Kathleen Hart, PhD, is a clinical psychologist who works with adolescents and adults experiencing eating disorders and anxiety disorders.

Dr. Hart earned her doctorate from Boston College and completed clinical psychology training at Boston Children’s Hospital and Cambridge Hospital. She completed her predoctoral internship at Children’s Hospital Colorado and also worked at Bethesda Hospital in Colorado on its adult eating disorder and substance use treatment units.

Now in private practice, Dr. Hart uses evidence-based behavioral treatments to support teens and adults. Her clinical approach includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family-Based Treatment, also known as the Maudsley Method, and mindfulness-based training.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hart has devoted part of her career to research. Her work has examined the relationships among parental attachment, sex roles, and eating disorders.

Her findings have been published in the Journal of Psychological Assessment, the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, and Sex Roles.
