Topic: Eating Disorder Prevention & Support for Emerging Adults and College Students

Join the Eating Disorders Association of Maine (EDAM) for our 2024 Conference, a full-day educational event dedicated to prevention, early identification, and multidisciplinary support for eating disorders among emerging adults and college students. This conference brings together clinicians, educators, medical providers, campus professionals, and community advocates to deepen understanding and strengthen collaboration in addressing eating disorders within higher education settings.

Throughout the day, attendees will explore current research, cultural considerations, and practical strategies for supporting students navigating body image concerns, disordered eating, and co-occurring mental health challenges. Sessions will examine trends in campus mental health, the impact of COVID-19, environmental messaging and triggers, and the unique experiences of gender minorities and BIPOC students in eating disorder diagnosis and treatment.

Our distinguished panel of speakers includes Sarah Carnahan, LCSW; Kathleen Hart, PhD; Drisana Henry, MD; Brock Libby, MD; Elizabeth Rothe, MD; Tonya Spaulding, RD, LD; and Lindsay Susi, LCSW. Together, they bring expertise from counseling services, adolescent medicine, sports medicine, psychology, nutrition, and specialized eating disorder treatment programs.

The conference fee is $75. EDAM members receive a 10% discount. Six hours of CE credits have been approved by the Maine Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
